Works great. Less hair and slower growth
This unit has been working great so far. I am able to see a difference in my facial hair. It’s getting much thinner and not growing in as fast.

I have an older model of a brand name IPL device, which I rarely pulled out to use because the device was so bulky and the treatment window area (the part that applies the light) was so small that it took forever to do even my tiny bikini area.I really like this one in comparison–I already actually use it more often, which is pretty much the number one important thing to consider when expecting results. You have to be consistent, especially at first, and having an easier-to-use device makes it way more likely that I’ll be consistent.It isn’t tiny, like an electric razor, but does have a more hand-friendly shape in that it is slim enough to hold. It does require a power cord, but it does not obstruct what you are trying to do.The light window is larger than on some other devices, making treatment faster and easier. There is an automatic feature, which claims to activate the pulse each time it contacts skin. I do find it convenient to not have to press the button for every flash, and it does make the whole process go more smoothly; however, I would absolutely put it on manual for the first few times, and wear eye protection, as mine tends to flash at times even when it is not in contact with skin. There are glasses included and while they do seem to do the job of protecting, the lenses on mine made everything look a bit wavy.The only issue I have is that I have had to “reset” it a couple times by powering down and then turning back on. It would pulse as normal for 20 or so pulses, then act as if pulsing when I pressed the button by counting down on the display but providing no light. The turning off/on seemed to remedy this, and it is just a minor annoyance. In my experience, the brand name devices also suffer from such misfires, so I don’t think it is specific to this particular model.I would say this is a good device to try to see if home IPL works for you, before investing in a branded device, but I also think that may not be necessary–I find this one to be just as good as my branded device, and actually better in some ways.

I bought this IPL laser hair removal device and I’ve been quite surprised. It has a modern and compact design, and it’s super easy to use at home. The digital display is very helpful because you can see the intensity and adjust it to your comfort level.What I liked most is that it includes protective goggles and several power levels, so you can start gently and gradually increase the intensity.

Inital thoughts
This is one of those things you have to use for a while to really see results. In the meantime, I will provide my initial impressions from using it once. For context, I have a Ulike. I wanted to compare this to the significantly more expensive IPL device, Ulike. I have the Air 10. Not everyone has hundreds of dollars to fork out, so I figured I would try this one and compare, to see if it’s an adequate substitute.This comes with the device, power adapter, small disposable razor, glasses to protect your eyes from the laser, and the instruction manual. There are five settings for intensity. There is an automatic mode where it will flash every three seconds. You just move the device to the next spot in-between flashes. Trust me, this is a nice feature to have. Otherwise, you have to press the button every time. When you can only go roughly an inch at a time, that’s a lot of button pushing. The automatic mode lets you get into a rhythm which makes it seem to go faster. It might take you 10-15 minutes to get through one leg.For the two weeks at least, you should do it 3-4 times a week.The next two weeks, do it 2-3 times a week.Two weeks after that, do it 1-2 times a week.Two weeks after that, do it about once per week.Finally, two weeks after that, switch to once per month.If your hair is particularly stubborn, you can do 3-4 times a week for a little longer. With the Ulike, I am down to doing my legs once a month. I wasn’t as diligent with my under arms, so that is what I will test this device with. I’ll use this device on one side and the Ulike on the other. We’ll see how it looks in a month. The one thing I am not looking forward to is the pain. With this device, it feels like a rubber band is snapping on your skin. With the Ulike, it has a cooling system that keeps the glass very cold, so you do not feel the rubber band. This device does not have that. My theory though, is I will get used to it after a while. We shall see.
