Both colors went on easily, very hydrating and comfortable on the lips
I tested out the shades Nude Flush (10) and Rebel Red (35).First off, the colors are true to how they appear in the packaging, something I have found hard to achieve in drugstore lip products. Nude Flush is a pinky-based nude and Rebel Red is a true red. Both colors went on easily, very hydrating and comfortable on the lips. However, with how comfortable they are, they do not last a long time. If you do any eating, drinking or anything that can involve transfer, the lip color will come off. The brighter/deeper colors do not go on pigmented with one swipe so you can’t achieve the matte look as when you keep applying, it gives it a glossier finish. Even with the shades where you only need one swipe, it never fully drys down to a matte but is more of a demi-matte. While reapplying, it doesn’t go on clumpy, however the frequency of needing to reapply makes it inconvenient. My biggest complaint however is the taste and smell. It’s almost like having a bar of soap in your mouth and the taste/smell of it never goes away to the point I can only leave the product on for a few minutes. Overall, if the taste and smell doesn’t bother you, they aren’t bad for drugstore lip products but I can’t handle it. I would much rather save up for a more high end product that I know is going to last longer. I did receive these products for free to review, and all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

I received this product to try, and while I’m not usually a big fan of “liquid” matte lip color, I was pleasantly surprised with the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid. First off, it is not so much a true liquid as more of a soft, mousse-like formula. It applies nicely, and it is easy to keep the product within the lip line thanks to its skinny, doe-foot style applicator. It is said that you can achieve two different looks by either applying one thin coat for a bold matte look, or two coats for a soft, creamy look. I tried this, and discovered that while applying one coat sparingly you have less of a chance of smudging, you really need two full coats to develop the true color. This lipcolor feels extremely comfortable on the lips – no dry, cracked lips – and as the color fades away it leaves a nice stain (especially the darker color). I received two shades, Nude Thrill and Rebel Red, and I am loving them both! The nude shade is perfect for everyday, while the red is bright and bold and perfect for adding some punch to your look. My only complaint is the scent..it’s quite floral, like an old perfume…not really fruity, but sort of sweet. I prefer a true fruit or vanilla scent for lip products, but this floral fragrance is not horrible, just unexpected. Overall, I am very pleased with this product, and intend to purchase addition colors!Though this item was received free of cost to me, all opinions are my own and based solely on my experience with said product.

This is not a liquid lipstick and it does not dry matte. IIn fact it doesn’t dry matte all after having it on the back of my hand for over 5 minutes it was still a medium high shine medium opacity product that smudged everywhere. Low pigment payoff unless you want your lips dripping in the product, it’s effectively a pigmented lip gloss. 0/10 will be requesting a refund. -A hair and makeup artist

Great Liquid Matte!
Today I received a package from Influenster. Check them out, they’re awesome! You sign up and they will send you things that you qualify for for free! The only catch is testing them and sharing your reviews of the products on your various social media outlets. My VoxBox this time (that’s what they call their packages) was from Maybelline. I received two different shades of their Vivid Matte Liquid, Rebel Red and Nude Blush.Let me just say, I’ve only tried these in my apartment, but I can’t wait to wear them out! One application and I’m already in love! Talk about crazy! They’re easy to apply with their application wands. They go on quite smoothly. Their wear is very soft. No stickiness like some liquid mattes I’ve tried. And the shades are SO vibrant! I didn’t wear them with liner like I do normally, but the Nude Flush didn’t look bad at all without it. With the Rebel Red I feel I personally need a liner under it. The shade doesn’t sit completely well with my complexion, but a liner under it should fix that swimmingly.I’d definitely give both these colors a 10/10! Can’t wait to try other shades from this line!

#VividMatte for Vivid Lips
Some have said this is more of a creamy lipstick than a liquid matte. I think It’s important to keep in mind the label. The directions state to apply a very thin layer for long lasting matte. I find that a have to run the applicator around the lip of the bottle to remove much excess lipstick prior to applying. I like one coat this way, putting it on thicker makes it highly transferrable. If you just wait a little while it will dry when a thin coat is applied and still has great color. The rebel red is extremely bold! I loved the nude flush, it was close to my natural lip color with much more pink for a fun look. Another thin coat will provide more of a moussey/creamy look. A thick coat is not necessary to achieve this look and will actually stay wet that way and come off on anything that touches your lips at all. This smells nice, almost no scent, and will last for several hours, eventually fading away to a light stain. I received Maybelline’s Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick complimentary to test and review from Influenster in the #VividMatte VoxBox. Review is based on my opinion upon trying this in Rebel Red and Nude Flush.
