I am on my third Hawaiian Tropic Mineral Powder Sunscreen Brush, and I love it. I keep it in my purse to touch up my sunscreen at work or when I run errands – times when I’d otherwise be unlikely to apply a lotion sunscreen. It’s convenient and effective for me.I’m a redhead and my skin hates the sun – I wear hats, UPF clothes, stay in the shade, and try my best to be crepuscular; however, windows and mid-day sun cannot always be avoided. I have avoided incidental sun exposure skin mishaps ever since I started using sunscreen powder. I use a compact mirror or my car’s visor mirror when I apply it to my face, neck, and exposed chest area, because I need visual confirmation that I’ve placed a thin layer all over – it’s not something I can do by feel, and I have to use a heavy hand (and I put it on the back of my hands and forearms). I keep it in a small cosmetics bag, so I haven’t had it come apart, but when I use a bigger bag I put it in a resealable plastic snack baggie – one of my more expensive powder sunscreen brushes spilled one time so learn from me 🙂 This formulation works as well as the more expensive versions I’ve tried; I’m grateful it is affordably priced, because I’ve noticed I apply it more liberally than the more expensive ones. I do recommend this sunscreen powder brush.

Love it, but the screw cap needs to be taped on to prevent spillage
I actually really love this powder sunscreen. I was keeping it in my purse to put on when I’m out and about or in my car with the sunroof open. Unfortunately, I opened my brand new $150 purse to find that the cap came off and the powder spilled all over. Super bummed.

Light and easy to wear
Some mineral powder sunscreens make me itchy, this one did not. It is light and didn’t weigh down my skin or clog pores. It went right over my makeup like a setting powder but feels fine to wear with no make up as well. It’s completely colorless so it’s hard to tell how much you have on. I was worried about it being blotchy but I did not have any issues once I went out in the sun. It fits great in my purse and I can reapply it all day long. Nice scent, although I think I would have preferred it to have none. One thing I really like is that I can put it in my hair along parts to prevent my scalp from burning. Much preferred to any sort of spray on for my face and scalp.

Beware when opening packaging!!
This is only getting three stars because of how it came. When my package first arrived, I opened the little box it came in, and the tube of the sunscreen was covered in the powder. I could run the tube on my shirt and you could tell it was covered in the sunscreen. Then when I took the top off, the powder went everywhere on my lap. I also find the plastic sleeve hard to get up and down when I am trying to use. But other than the way it came, I love the sunscreen. It protects my part line from the sun very well without my hair looking greasy and it smells really nice!

Sunscreen stays put
I use this powder sunscreen to “set” my regular sunscreen. It keeps it in place much longer even on hot, sunny outdoor days, and I don’t get sunscreen migrating into my eyes. Reduced shine is a plus.

Love love love this stuff. It helps with shine and is a sunscreen. I keep one at home and apply at the end of my makeup routine, and keep one in my purse or in my pocket to reapply as needed. I still use a lotion sunscreen as well so not sure about the sunblock capabilities, but it can’t hurt!

I love this product. Nice to put sunscreen over makeup before going outside without getting makeup greasy. My esthetician, who always wants to sell me expensive products, even approved of the ingredients. It can cause a lot of powder to fly so keep this in mind when you decide where to apply. Also, I would only purchase one at a time so as not to have too much left by the expiration date. Now I just need to remember to move it from my purse to my work bag.
