great even for dry, dehydrated, and sensitive skin; good for pore care and texture
I have tried almost every popular K-beauty cleanser in search of the ones that work for my dry, dehydrated, maturing skin that is prone to eczema and rosacea. Many start strong and then end up drying (Roundlab), others are stripping right out of the gate (most of them). In fact, the two I like most are very under the radar so I expected this Hanskin one to be a disappointment as well, especially as foaming cleansers are not recommended for dry skin AND it has LHA, which is hit or miss with my skin. However, I was very pleasantly surprised!For a lot of these gel to foam cleansers, you need the right amount to get it foam. For me, that is a nice hack because I don’t really want it to foam; foam is stripping and I prefer a creamy cleanse. So I tested this two ways, one with the standard amount, and one with a small pea. The tiny pea was perfect for a creamy version that had still cleansed well. While I wouldn’t usually seek out a foaming cleanser (or even a gel one honestly), I was super glad this was able to work as I had hoped.The best part was that it left my skin so soft and actually hydrated, which I was shocked by. Not only was it not stripping, it was moisturizing, which is rare is any sort of gel cleanser. It does have fragrance, which I would prefer it didn’t (it’s a light lotus-like scent), but it didn’t cause irritation or stinging even with the LHA. It got off my regular makeup well (was not wearing eye makeup) and the gel-to-foam makes it a great choice for acne-prone and oily types. Unlike a lot of cleansers these days that use cheap surfacants that can clog pores, this has a great ingredient list (as long as your skin likes HAs). Due to the added fragrance I will stick to my normal cleansers when my barrier is especially sensitive, but I think this is also a great summer cleanser for dry types when you are sticky and sweaty.Because of the LHA (an exfoliant), this may not work for all people as a daily cleanser, but more of a once or twice weekly thing like a clarifying shampoo. Some people can handle daily exfoliation and other’s can’t; be sure to check all your other products to make sure you aren’t overexfoliating as you can quickly damage your barrier.At the current sale price of $10 (with free gift!) I think that is more than fair, although I did not that like many companies they are no longer filling the packaging to the top, so there is shrinkflation.Also, not that it matters, but the inside of the packaging is super beautiful (see pic)! I wasn’t expecting that when I took the box apart, and I think it adds a bit of a luxe feel.Hope that helps!

Pleasant and effective gel cleanser that leaves skin fresh, smooth and ready for treatments.
This cleansing gel is part of a Korean skin care regimen. The product is legitimately from Korea.Ingredients and use-First step is to clean and prepare skin by removing dirt and dead skin cells. This gel gently foams and feels good on the skin. The gel emulsifies easily when mixed with warm water. It cleanes without making skin feel tight or stripped. It does not harm the skin barrier.The gel contains LHA. This is a type of salicylic acid that is very gentle and non irritating. It provides acid exfoliation. There are no beads or any kind of mechanical exfoliation. I can’t comment on whether it removes blackheads as advertised as I no longer have that issue. The ingredients in this cleanser would indicate a formulation for more oily or acne prone skin. However, the gel worked well on my drier skin too. The light exfoliation keeps my skin looking fresh, but never irritated.The gel also contains what the manufacturer calls vegan pdrm. This ingredient is supposed to be nurturing for the skin. Finally, the cleaning gel includes a blend of hyaluronic acids leave skin feeling hydrated. The gel leaves the skin smooth and ready to receive and absorb serums and moisturizer if you choose.Any side effects?I had no side effects from this cleansing gel. I experienced no irritation. The smell is very light and dissipates quickly. My skin can be sensitive and this gel is calming.My Initial impressions-The gel cleans and rinses well. I have used it about 7 times and I like how smooth my skin feels. My primary takeaway is that the gel lightly exfoliates and adds hydration, leaving my skin feeling smooth. I also like that my serums seem to absorb well after cleansing with this gel. I do sometimes pre clean my skin with a cleansing oil if I have used heavy makeup or sun screen. I then follow up with this gel leaving my skin feeling really clean, but not tight. I don’t know yet if the pdrm is working for anti-aging. Since this gel is rinsed off completely, I think its primary function is that it prepares the skin for leave on serums and creams. I guess time will tell on the effects of the pdrm.Value-This cleanser is moderately priced. Since only a small dab is needed, the tube will last at least one month, maybe more.
