Ok to start off. I have not used this. But my wife and teenage girls have. Very safe to use and a solid option if you’re looking for an easy, at-home way to deal with unwanted hair. It’s pretty straightforward to use and works on areas like your legs, arms, and underarms. It uses IPL technology, so it takes a few weeks of consistent use before you really notice results, but it did reduce their hair growth over time. It’s not as powerful as what you’d get at a professional clinic, but for the price and convenience, it’s a great starting point. I guess better than waxing, but not as fast. Overall, they think it’s a good choice for anyone wanting smoother skin without the hassle of appointments.

Defective unit, cheap construction, flimsy feel?
I’ve used an IPL device from Philips before. No issues with usage, so I know what to expect.The first moment I go to use this piece of built in Shenzhen junk (and China CAN make some amazing products, but this ain’t it), I hear a god awful loud BANG… Along with a burning smell from the device (hopefully covering up the smell of a little poo that came out). My first thought is that the bulb exploded. Nope, nothing. No heat on my skin, no glass fragments thankfully…and the bulb looked fine? I can only assume that it was a fuse or step-up transformer inside the unit that was defective. I can’t emphasise enough how loud this bang was. I was trying to zap the weird monkey hair off my shoulder when this thing went off, so it was right next to my ear. Had to be one of the loudest noises I’ve heard in a while, and that’s saying a lot living next to construction sites and working with jets. I didn’t dare try again.The build quality also feels quite cheap. The buttons and casing feel quite low grade in terms of plastics. Even the box feels a bit … juvenile? With that in mind, proper trusted brands have products for a similar price, so I don’t see the value in this thing. There’s no value for money in spending 160 odd USD for something that doesn’t work and wastes my time in returns.

Sooo.. We are all guilty of seeing all kinds of advertising for these things lately, right? Well I fell for it and I’m so glad I did! This came in a cute little box- packed really well actually. Comes with an adapter, razor, glasses, the unit itself, a bag you can put it all in (which is quite nice to stuff everything in) it has directions if you’ve never done it before, took me a time or two but I’m getting the hang of it! Be sure to charge it out of the box. The unit itself is a little bigger than my hand and not too heavy, just right, I’d say. Don’t forget to put the goggles on to protect your eyes. It lights up and makes a little sound when going over your area. This is really cool!! I’m super excited to keep using it and can’t wait to see results!! 🙂
