IPL: It’s Complicated
This is my second time owning an IPL hair removal device. I assume if you’re reading this then you’ve seen advertisements for other IPL laser devices before, things like the Nood Instagram ads maybe? I think that what this device does it does well, but I think that IPL is frequently marketed as more of a miracle product than maybe it truly is. This is not the same thing as laser hair removal, it has fairly similar effects but it does definitely have drawbacks! You have to be very consistent with use in order to see results, follow the directions as far as frequency to use and for how long, and keep in mind that the area it can at one time is pretty small. In my experience, these devices haven’t stopped hair growth entirely, but they’ve made very significant decrease in how much grows and how quickly hair grows. Perhaps if I had used mine longer the last time, then I would’ve seen permanent results? In my experience this type of product is good for reducing how often you have to shave, and making it less noticeable when you haven’t shaved, but I wasn’t able to completely eliminate hair. I use an IPL gun on my face because I’m very prone to ingrowns with my facial hair, and it does work pretty well! It definitely does not hurt to use this, but you will feel a slight zapping sensation and you’ll probably smell a little bit of hair burning. One really important thing to note is that much like laser hair removal, it doesn’t work very well when there is little contrast between the color of your skin and the color of your hair, so if you have very fair skin and very light hair, it’s unlikely that it will do much if anything, in the same thing for if you have dark skin and dark hair. Overall, I’m not necessarily sure if it’s the best idea in the world to do hair removal with a generic device you got off of Amazon, but I’ve done it before and had no issues! So I am doing it again! I will also say it seems that these devices are usually marketed with an insane amount of zaps before they are no longer able to be used, but it definitely does not have 999999 uses in it before it dies. Overall, this is a cheap way to significantly reduce hair growth, it doesn’t hurt like an epilator does, it takes a few minutes, but with consistency you’ll be able to get results, just keep in mind this is not a miracle product and make sure you read the directions! I will try to update if/when mine dies!

week 8 still have hair
i have been doing this religiously I’m on week 8 my leg hair has slowed growing so has my bikini line and my pits they slowed down but haven’t stopped its really easy to use the instructions are super clear i have dropped it a lot and it still works fine it didn’t irritate my skin at all and was a lot less painful than waxing
