A beautiful, velvety skincare splurge
Lancôme Absolue Longevity MD Intercept Face Cream For Mid-Age feels amazing on my skin. It’s a moisturizer that has a distinctive feel; it is extremely thick, with a velvety, rich texture that allows just a little bit to go a very long way. It has the most velvety texture I have ever felt on my skin, and it just feels terrific. For the rest of the day, my complexion feels like I just applied my moisturizer–my skin is pliant and smooth, soft throughout the long hours.This skin cream feels almost better when I apply it at night and let it hang around on my skin while I sleep. In the morning, my complexion looks much brighter and recharged than usual. Instead of my pale, morning face, the past few days have introduced me to a brighter, glowier complexion, first thing. The face cream does not add grease or oil to my skin at all; my skin is never shiny. It’s radiant.Unfortunately, the big downfall is that this Lancome moisturizer is expensive. Of course. What Lancome has started doing with a number of their skincare products is to make the containers refillable. Nearly all of the products have exterior glass containers/jars that house removable plastic inserts with the product inside. One of the nicest things about this is that the bottles and jars are really beautiful. They don’t look cheap; they look chic and understated but luxurious. The containers are all heavy and feel good in the hand.If you would like a splurge in skincare, this is a good one.

Very Sticky But Smells Nice Too Early To Tell If It Will Reduce Age Lines
If you know anything about aging, then you know that the first visible signs of age is in your hands. That’s part of the reason I am showing my hand in the photo because I’m almost 58 and I am the target audience for this product.I have never used a Lancôme product prior to this, because I don’t have $155 to drop on facial cream. I’m not made of money and I can buy a lot of groceries for the cost of this product, so in full transparency, I will never be a customer for that reason alone.Now, with that said, I have to say that the fragrance is very calming and nice. It’s not overpowering and it’s very pleasant. I like that. The cream itself is very buttery and smooth. You can see it almost looks like a whipped butter.But, I find it very sticky. I used it on my face and it felt like I was wearing a sticky mask and it took what felt like hours for it to fully absorb in my skin, even after following the instructions. I did it on my hands also, and the sticky feeling remains. I am not a fan of this.The idea behind this product is that it uses mitopure, which was 15 years in the making and it’s supposed to intercept aging. I happen to have very few wrinkles and lines in the first place, due to genetics, so it’s hard for me to really judge if this is and/or will show any visible signs of intercepting my aging. Again, on my hands, maybe, but not my face.Another idea behind this is that the main ingredients in the cream are used to replace you having to take vitamins to get the same effect. Again, hard to determine the validity of this based on only a few uses of it.I do like that Lancôme is conscious of waste and they say directly on the packaging that they put this is a glass bottle so that you can reuse the bottle. That’s great and it’s a nice bottle.If I was super vain, and I had money to waste, I may try this again after I’m done with this bottle. Not sure. I can’t in good conscience give this 5 stars because I haven’t used the whole bottle and so I can’t determine if it will or will not make me look younger, but the product is nice, but too sticky. I’m giving this 4 stars for the cost being ridiculous and also for it being sticky.

Velvety-Smooth and Hydrating!
LOVE this! The texture is incredibly rich and velvety — a little goes a really long way, and it absorbs beautifully with zero greasiness. I’ve been using this for about a week and my skin feels softer, plumper, and more even-toned after use than vs my usuals. It’s a pretty standard cream texture imo, but with a little something extra that makes it extra buttery and velvety. Really easy to apply, and when warmed in my hand I feel like it spreads very thin and smooth — really feels like it’s melting in my palms.I have dry and sensitive skin, and no irritation whatsoever — really impressive for such a rich formula, but hey — that’s Lancome for you! Despite a bit of a rose scent, nada on the irritation, and none of the clogged pores I often get from more hydrating creams.This is all-around Lancôme quality, both inside and out. The jar is weighty and looks great. Very Lancôme. I purchase tons of Lancôme and this totally lives up to the quality I’ve come to expect from the brand. :))The (big) caveat is obviously the price — this is a serious splurge. For the results and the quality though, I think the value is there, especially considering that the amount they give could easily last a good few months. Additionally, once you have the jar, you have the jar — I also got the refill for this, which is a bit more affordably priced. Love the sustainability! 5 stars!
